Ah Toby! You need to get him a mirror so he can remember what another tortoise actually looks like! (Mind you, he may be very disappointed when he finds out he's just been shgging an old boot!) more…

No, not at the moment...
I have to say, just from watching, he does seem odd. Last year he build the world's smallest kitchen extension (about 1 foot I reckon). I don't know him, but I think he prefers being outside his house rather than in it... more…

Well I am glad it's not just me (thought I was being victimised for a moment). My last pair (my current pair) of glasses cost a small (large!) fortune, so am glad I don't need to buy a new pair.
As for lenses, it's just a con!
I went through a phase of wearing them for quite a while some years ago, then I realised that more…

lol I know exaclty what you're talking about. I love how my opticians kept trying to get me to get new glases (mine were a year old.... that isn't much!) and then when they did it was over £200 for the appointment, the glasses and the lenses. It was bloody ridiculous. I nearly said no.... oh well :( And they made me go on the direct debit thing jus more…

I should know better, but I can't fight the genes - back at Poly (showing my age) we were labled "tight fisted computer scientists" and Ihave to say... yes! But then I've forked out loads this year for new trunks (those Jammers things), speedo racing goggles, diesel, food... so by scrimping on the B&B I "think" I'm making a difference.

(Saying with chest puffed out)
They taste really nice:)
Herself came back from Amsterdam last night and for a light supper she/we had a dozen (yes honey a big 12) of the little chaps with finely grated parmisan, a small amount of goat's cheese, some extra virgin olive oil and a smidge of pepper, with a slice of home cooked bread. more…

Yes it may well do - but then he's not yet four :) He has pretty much played with Boost since his return - it's gone to the swimming pool with us, Morrisons, Waitrose and Focus, and when I took the kids scootering after tea it went to the park with us as well. And now it's safely beside his bed with the rest of his Car's collection (except for gr more…

In many ways that is exceedingly good in the fact it'll teach him a valid lesson on life. You may think how on earth can a toy teach a young child the value of life well it can, if he loses a toy he's well aware that if he has any other toys and he's not careful with them he'll lose them too, so now subconsiously he'll be very careful with the way more…

Yes it's "funny" how that always seems to happen, isn't it? Normally (honest) I don't get too rassed by this type of thing, but this time when I'm late and they could (a) park somewhere else and (b) definitely not put the bloomin' box right behind me where I couldn't see it... reading your post reminded me of yesterday morning on my way to Tescos. A binman had gone across the lights at his turn and when it was my turn to go, he had only pulled up not far from the lights so I couldn't bloomin' go anywhere and was holding up the traffic. The drivers on the other side of the road couldn't move for me either cos there ligh more…

Well Whitsun is in a fortnight - you both need a weekend before that else neither of you will enjoy the time at all!
I hope you can sort stuff out soon, because these things have a way of putting distance between people that then becomes the norm....

Yeah, you're right. We did actually have a talk like that a month or so ago. Because she's working so hard, she's knackered at the week end and it's one of those double-edged sword things - she'd sleep in and then miss the kids because she'd be up, have breakfast and be gone (especially on Sundays). So we did manage a bit better for a while... b more…

You need to sit her down and make her see that
a) she needs proper rest time
b) she is entitled to holidays
c) her husband and children want and need her presence
Put them in any order you want but you need to communicate these things effectively.
Good luck :) more…

But why do clothes shops have to lie - that's what I am confused about, apart from a touch of middle-agedness I haven't really changed in shape (around the middle) much.
I know in the "olden" days when I bought size 32" jeans they *were* 32" jeans. It just seems wrong to call any of my new jeans 30" because clearly they are not.
