I was walking back from the pool this lunchtime, across the plazza (apparently) and on the other side was a rather dishevelled looking elderly (i.e. somewhat older than me) chap, shuffling up the plazza. Anyway I looked at him and he looked at me and said "Hello". It was only then that I realised I not only recognised him - but also worked with him on a pretty much daily basis!!

So I stopped and chewed the fat with him for a couple of minutes. Apparently he having today off and was taking his kids (the three teenaged youths who were some way in front of him that I hadn't paid a blind bit of notice to) to the cinema (also on the plazza). So we said our goodbyes and went our respective ways.

Granted he was wearing his casual stuff, but I just couldn't believe how different somebody could look. The shock was double fold (though may be I'll pay more attention tomorrow when he's back in the office) because whilst he's a bit older than me (probably no more than 2/3 years) he really looked quite (no - much, much) old(er) than me. And yet in the office he does look older but not that much.

Then I started thinking, I wonder if I look like that when I'm not in work "dress", I don't think so but it's kind of a scary thought really.
